The sun came out after the storm. What a welcoming sign. The lack of electricity at home (56 hours) taught me to appreciate the little things in life that we take for granted. Luckily, we learnt that we could still use the stove to cook dinner (we used an ignitor to light up a fire).
Luckily, the weekend’s weather was splendid. Warm breezes. Soft sunshine. I decided to visit the Union Square greenmarket to get a taste of autumn. So long berries. Hello squashes and melons. Wow. I am not quite mentally ready to say good-bye to my beloved summer (my favorite season), but the foliage colors do put my mind at ease.
