Powerhouse Snacks

Once again, when you are fighting against the constraint of time, you are always fighting against hunger as well.  So, you need something quick, nutritious, and of course, filling to tame that growling stomach.  I am not adventurous enough to experiment with space food (pill form??), but I just discovered the power of stuffed dates. Since I am a vegetarian, I do not wrap mine with bacon, but rather with blanched almonds or slivers of dried fruits.

Date is one of the oldest cultivated fruits in the world.  Dried dates are very nutritious and a little goes a long way, so you do need to eat a lot to feel satisfied.  Another plus? These little wrinkled, oval shapes are so portable and they are so much healthier than processed granola bars. Pop one into your mouth as you plow through your work deadlines.
